For the past three years, IWC Schaffhausen, the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer, has been releasing special editions inspired by the little prince. These editions pay homage to the iconic book written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, a renowned writer, pilot, and adventurer. The journey began in 2013 with the launch of the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition “Le Petit Prince” (Ref. IW502802) and the Pilot’s Watch Mark XVII Edition “Le Petit Prince” (Ref. IW326506) to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the beloved story. A platinum version of the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition “Le Petit Prince” (Ref. IW502801) was auctioned by Sotheby’s in Geneva, raising an impressive CHF 173,000 for the Fondation Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, dedicated to preserving the humanitarian legacy of the Frenchman.

The series of limited editions continued in 2014 with the release of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “Le Petit Prince” (Ref. IW377706) and the Big Pilot’s Watch Edition “Le Petit Prince” (Ref. IW500908). In 2015, IWC Schaffhausen introduced the Big Pilot’s Watch Edition “Le Petit Prince” (Ref. IW500909) in red gold, limited to 250 pieces. That same year, the innovative Pilot’s Watch Double Chronograph Edition “Le Petit Prince” (Ref. IW371807) was unveiled, featuring a unique day display in the shape of a circle adorned with seven stars."
